Role : Technical Director/ Lead Animator/ Designer
In 2021 I worked with a team tasked with designing and animating a 6240 x 2700 60fps 3 minute long video loop showcasing all of Apple’s latest products. Our deliverable was displayed in stores around the world on Apple’s Video Wall. After receiving approvals internally, the final was shopped out to a vendor for finishing.
This asset was also cutdown and utilized for multiple Social spots, as well as displaying instore on devices as a screensaver.
Beyond the technical, I was also heavily involved in the process of design + animation. Our team spent months to come up with a 3 minute long conceptual animation that would showcase all the new Apple products being launched during the Holiday season.
Eventually my idea of using “Sleight of Hand” to hide and reveal products was the direction our team went forward with and developed into our fully featured Holiday Campaign.
Acting as a Technical Director/ Lead Animator for this job I was tasked with helping set up files and lay the groundwork for the pipeline. We received untextured Maya files from other internal teams and I was in charge of texturing, lighting, and rendering the hero products. Set up with Cinema4D and Octane.
I was able to set up a handful of products using the Octane Tag’s “Instance ID” to give artists the flexibility to change multiple material textures, as well as mapped bitmap images with just one variable.
Thus allowing the artists on our team a quicker more productive workflow, all while sharing one master texture across multiple product colors that would be easy to adjust.
